  • Shawnee National Forest Guided Tours and Shuttles in Eddyville are an excellent way to make memories with your loved ones while exploring the hidden wonders of the Shawnee National Forest.  Choose from Guided walking tours, adventure excursions, and guided shuttle trips.  You’ll have lots of opportunities to explore breathtaking views and get up close with nature, so be sure to bring your camera!
  • Downtown Elgin Public Arts Tour is a wonderful walking tour celebrating the rejuvenation and revitalization of the downtown area.  The Elgin Cultural Arts Commission has been working hard over the last six years to cultivate public art projects and commission new mural work.  Grab the map from their website and be sure to bring your camera as you wander the city exploring beautiful artwork and creativity.  Two new pieces are commissioned each year through the New Works Program, so there’s always something fun to see!
  • Nachusa Grasslands Visitor Center in Franklin Grove is a stunning wildlife preserve with over 3500 acres to explore.  Flowing grasses, native wildflowers, and beautiful Bison grazing along the plains are just some of the natural wonders you’ll see.  The visitor center will help you choose which paths to explore, and what other plants, critters and creatures you may find along the way.
